The Management Information System (MIS) Procedure: How We Do It

Technology has made it easy for us to serve you better in the corporate law sector. The Management Information System (MIS) is an application that we employ to ensure that your legal case is correctly handled by the assigned lawyer. The system determines the individual performance of the attorney. We don’t take delays lightly and if such happens, the incidence is recorded in our system and we take effective actions against the attorney. Based on the overall rating of the lawyer as indicated on our MIS interface, we are able to revise their salaries and promotions accordingly. The lawyers are graded on a scale of 1-10 by the supervisor and the information is recorded on the MIS. Typically, the grading is dependent on the amount of work, quality of performance, and the time of completion.

Flow Chart (FC)

We have an FC for every work we handle. Each FC segment specifies the stage of the MIS. Each stage in the flowchart is assigned to a particular lawyer. Normally, there is a time limit for every stage and each lawyer is expected to comply. The performance of the individual lawyer in each stage is recorded on the MIS as graded by the supervisor.

Checklist

This document is a guide provided to the lawyers to help them know what is expected of them. The guide comes separate and it’s a great list as it enables the attorney work within the regulation.

Flow Chart Monitoring Sheet (FMS)

To monitor the FC and make sure that the MIS process runs smoothly, we have an FMS file. This separate file ascertains that the lawyers complete their assignment within a specified time.
